Movie Night Popcorn Recipes from Beverly CW

These recipes work best with old-fashioned popcorn made in a stovetop popper or heavy pot. That begins with 

2 Tablespoons shortening or corn oil, heated

½ cup popcorn kernels

Pop the popcorn. You should have about 12-14 cups of popped corn.
Now you’re ready for the rest!


Ranch Popcorn (If you need to keep your cool)

3 Tablespoons Ranch Dressing powder

4 Tablespoons melted butter

1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh chives or 2 tablespoons dried chives   

Mix the melted butter and Ranch Dressing powder. In a large bowl, pour the melted butter mixture with the popcorn and toss vigorously. Top with chives.


Barbecue Popcorn (If you get hot under the collar)

Melt 4 tablespoons butter with 1 teaspoon each cumin, paprika, granulated garlic, chili powder and barbecue sauce, and a pinch of cayenne; toss with 12 cups hot popcorn and 4 cups lightly crushed barbecue potato chips. Season with salt.


Sugar-glazed Popcorn (To add some sweetness to the world)

½ cup butter

¼ cup sugar

1 Tablespoon water

Melt the butter in a small pot. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Boil about 2 minutes. Add the water and stir well. Quickly pour over the popped corn. Chill in the fridge for about 15 minutes to firm the sugar. This recipe is courtesy of Jen @ Jen’s Favorite Cookies.
